We began the process to adopt a child from the Philippines in January 2007 and received ICAB approval in May 2008. On October 29, 2010 we were matched with our son Rafael and he joined our family on February 20, 2011!! Now we are home and are enjoying the adventures of parenting!!

2 years
It's been 2 years nice ICAB approval. I only have one question - how much longer??
I feel your pain. We have been waiting almost 25 months. We were ICAB approved April 25th 2008. Here's hoping to some really good news for all of us soon!!!
Julie and Sabine, I'm really hoping that we are all matched soon. Who knows, we may be matched already and haven't yet received word. I'm trying my best to be optimistic!
Jenny, I know that there are several people now who are waiting for referrals who are around the two year mark. Hopefully the wait won't be too much longer.
Congratulations on 2 years! I know that you didn't think you'd still be waiting for your call today...I hope you have a good day anyway...I have a friend who tells me to have a "be good to you" day...So...my wish for you is first to have a "be good to you day" and second...of course that you'll get that call!
I, too, feel your pain! As you know, we are one week away from 23 months. It was great to see a new match in the group this weekend (Congrats, Tangie!) but it is also so painful. Then I really have to watch the feelings of panic when I think, "Maybe some of our paperwork is wrong! Maybe they're waiting for something from us that I just don't know about!"
But then I remember you and others like us and think, sigh, it's going to be OK and we will meet our little ones soon. Soonish. Eventually.
Chrissi, I totally agree with all that you said. I keep thinking that our paperwork is missing or they don't like us but then I think of all the other families in the same boat and I realize that our turn is soon coming. Sooner rather than later I hope!! Do you have a blog?

I just don't get it...I'm sorry.
I haven't been following the yahoo boards. Has this time frame of 2+ years become the norm?

I hope you get a referral soon! We've only been waiting a year. May 14, was our 12 month mark. Fingers crossed you get a call very soon!
Don't worry it will come very soon. Here in Qc (canada) we had 2 proposition yesterday... It's a sign that Icab is moving on :)

Renee, it has been a long wait for you, and you have been so patient! I hope, I hope, I hope that your turn is next!
