We began the process to adopt a child from the Philippines in January 2007 and received ICAB approval in May 2008. On October 29, 2010 we were matched with our son Rafael and he joined our family on February 20, 2011!! Now we are home and are enjoying the adventures of parenting!!

Preparations
We just found out that Rafael received his care package yesterday. We were so happy to hear that he got it in time for Christmas. I hope that he likes all of his goodies. I have also managed to find a second hand chariot jogging stroller!!!! I was thrilled about this as I've been looking for a while because they are around $600 - $700 to buy new. I really wanted a chariot as it came highly recommended by some of my running friends. I am hoping to pick it up tomorrow. Another thing to scratch off my to do list. Next I'm going to look for some baby gates and monitors. Does anyone have a monitor that they recommend?

Oh, how exciting! Rafael knows he has a mommy and a daddy waiting for him now! Let the wild preparations begin!
The Fisher Price monitor made it through four kiddoes here and we even bought it second hand. We love the safety 1st baby gates. Our first one broke and they sent us a replacement part no questions asked. Our second one is still doing a great job of keeping Maverick out of the other half of the house.
Awesome score on the stroller! You will love the big tires. Rafael will love catching the wind in his hair :o)!
Blessings!
Deborah
How nice that he received his package before Christmas! I have shivers! He'll be home before you know it!
I have a monitor, and barely never use it. Don't spend too much on one, because I am pretty sure you'll not use it very often.
Good to know that Rafaelle now knows he had a mommy and daddy that thinks about him all the time! :)
I have that kind of stoller and I LOVE it! I run with it, and bike with it. Rafaelle loves it too. She can look around, be comfy and warm.
Isn't it so great to finally be buying stuff for YOUR child! It was so hard for me to wait to get stuff together when we didn't know if we were getting a boy/girl, infant/toddler... what fun to finally know! Helps to channel the anticipation into something productive. Glad you got the stroller you wanted. Have fun getting his room together. :-)
So glad you found a great running stroller. Especially since you are such an avid runner. I can't remember what brand mine is, but I love it!! I have used it more than any of my other strollers. While it isn't my smallest folding stroller it was the most functional. Love those big wheels. :)
