The weather here has been cooler and wet the past several days so when the sun came out yesterday evening, we headed outside. Rafael made a beeline to the ditch and proceeded to climb right into it and then to lie down in it. He was having fun so who was I to stop him!!! He really is all boy!!
It was just over 5 months ago that Rafael came into our lives and it is now hard to remember life without him. He is doing wonderfully and is finally beginning to say more and more words although he still prefers to grunt to let us know what he wants. Our final post placement visit is on August 9th. We're hoping and praying to have the adoption finalized by Christmas but this may be overly optimistic. Does anyone know how long it takes for ICAB to give their go ahead once your social worker sends over the final post placement report? Our social worker said that once ICAB gives her the okay, she can get a court date for the following week!!! I just don't know how long ICAB takes to do their part. I'd love any feedback that anyone has on this issue!

Ohhhh, he is soooo sweet!! Hopefully next summer we can see him in real life! Love those boots. There's nothing sweeter than a little boy in rubber boots!
Enjoy!

Yay! More Rafael!
Cute pictures!
As far as a timeline, we got Jay-R March 16 and finalized around mid December. It took a little longer than I expected for our court docs from ICAB, but I think a lot of it depends on our local court system as well. Good luck!
Enjoy your time with your son...he's a cute one!
Thanks for the info Tammy
Mud...boots...ball...handsome little boy! :) He just keeps getting cuter and cuter! Great pics, Renee :)

That is a wonderful story and OMG what a fun, loving child he is!!! My wife and I as well are hoping to adopt a Filipino child. We are Filipino ourselves. I am curious however, how were you able to adopt such a young child? We are under the impression by our readings that the youngest adoptable Filipino child is at least 3 years old.
May god bless your family!
Mike
Mike, there are younger children available for adoption from the Philippines. The youngest child I can remember was around 10-11 months when they were adopted. ICAB now has a rule in place that you have to be open to adopting a child who is up to the age of three. I think that's right but just check their website. Good luck!!
Oh yes, he is all boy and CUTE CUTE CUTE! I love the photos of him in the ditch. I can tell he is really growing. Ella did the grunting thing to communicate and it got really annoying at times but we just regularly encouraged her to use her words and it wasn't long before she did. No more hi-pitched screeching while out in public when she decides she's done with daddy and wants mommy that very instant! Now she just says, Mommy and reaches. Sorry I can't give much advice about the court docs and ICAB as our process was different.
