We began the process to adopt a child from the Philippines in January 2007 and received ICAB approval in May 2008. On October 29, 2010 we were matched with our son Rafael and he joined our family on February 20, 2011!! Now we are home and are enjoying the adventures of parenting!!

Long weekend
We are heading out of town tomorrow for a long weekend away with our other couple friends. I can't wait. We are planning on snowshoeing, having a fire on the beach, playing board games at night, and of course cooking up some big meals. It will feel so good to get all of this adoption stuff off of my mind. I was told today that we will have to complete our provincial update including criminal checks, references, medicals etc before they will send ICAB an update. This is very frustrating considering it can take between several months to one year to complete the provincial update. This is all driving me crazy but this weekend I plan on forgetting all the troubles and enjoying myself!!!

Take care and don't think to much about adoption I know it's not easy but you have the right to do things for yourself it's good for your emotion to do things to be happy!! :)
Patriciaxx God bless
Renee! I hope you have a wonderful time away...it's good to keep distracted especially considering everything you're having to deal with right now!! I'm hoping you get your referral...and you won't have to worry about your update! I have a question...you know how Philippines requires us to do follow up reports...what would happen in your case? Who would complete your follow up reports? Can that person prepare your update? Just some thoughts...Anyways...have a super fantastic time away!
Have a fabulous weekend!!! Hope you miss the snowstorm that's coming tomorrow
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!! It is good to do something fun to get your mind off the frustrations of the adoption process. I will pray for Divine intervention that your update process goes quickly. The waiting does stink, but try to focus on God's timing (I know easier said than done)...He has the perfect child chosen for you. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!!!
